Did you hear about Tokens?

Welcome XXXX.

We've been watching you since your arrival.

->We?

We are those who've come before you, or perhaps those that you've met that are no more.

The unlucky few who've been scatered and shattered, what was once the Veil.

->Veil?

A lesson in history is something We can offer you another time.

Right now there are more pressing matters... Matters of trade.

->Trade?

Yes, trade.

The doors have cracked open wide enough to where things that shouldn't be getting out are.

And it looks like they won't be closing anytime soon.

We're stuck here, unable to leave. But you seem to be able to enter and leave this place.

Will you let us look inside of you?

->Yes

Hmm... They're all there.

Every one of the Shifter's runes.

Very well.

We'll welcome you to our shop.

You gained 200 Shards of Shards : Unlocking the Void Trader.

Stories of the Void Trader

  • The Doors

    Ah those... Dreams can be fickle, and easily change when influenced by others - at times even themselves. Some Dreamers wanted a way out of the Void, so they shaped others into the easiest way out one can think of - a door. That's why the doors exist in such an unnatural way.

  • Monsters

    Do you remember your dreams? Most don't. And it's easy for a dream or a memory to turn into a nightmare, isn't it? Without a proper vessel, Dreamers have to create their own when they leave the Void, and often times those aren't perfect. That being said... We're sure you've met a Dreamer or two who's managed to get close enough.

  • Tokens

    We give Tokens great value. The reason why your 'shards' don't combine into one is mostly because they each are a fragment of another being. Tokens are a collection of fragments from one single being large enough to contain some sentience. While it's still not a whole, it's enough for us to welcome back into the peace of the Void. In exchange, we'll grant you the boon of those willing to dream

  • The Veil

    Mother's gift and curse. A great evil took advantage of Father's jealousy, and planted a dark seed within him. It was watered and grew. It grew so much that he had to be contained. Thus, Mother sacrificed herself to create the ultimate prison, the Veil, fueled by her soul. But she didn't know... She didn't know that it would also consume the souls of those inside it. It was slower... But the Veil would steadily siphon off the very essence of all creatures, empowering the binds that kept Father in place. He didn't like that. Through manipulation and corruption by forces both internal and external, the Veil was shattered, freeing Father. He was furious. And in his fury, he brought death and destruction in his wake. Nearly nothing was left of Spira, except for the crystalized remains of those that stayed. Even after broken, the Veil continued to try and stop him, protecting those that remained. Even shattered it still seems to 'limit' the power of those near it's fragments.

  • Dreamers

    Dreamers... Funny name to have, isn't it? That's what We call those who've been consumed by the Veil, be it of their own will or poor luck. Their memories, dreams, and very soul resides within all of Spira. Some try to regain form, while others allow their essence to be reshaped by the will of others, creating the very lands you stand on.

  • The Lands

    We're sure you've noticed but... Doesn't everything seem off? Things are here in ways that others, or even yourself, don't remember. Everything is right, but wrong. That's because everything was destroyed, and remade with the energy from within the Veil. What do you think happened to all that power stolen from other creatures? Even from Gods? The Veil contained all of this power within it. Power waiting to be shaped. The Shifter took advantage of that to recreate his lands, but those who were whole enough to dream, dreamt all of that which you explore now. And not just explore. Every plant you gather, item you create within these lands come from that very same power. Why else do you think you need a Copper Ingot to make an Iron one? Were you truly so foolish to just accept that? You are remaking one thing into another, harnessing that power by the gift given to you by the woman in Red.

  • You

    We are the consciousness of all of those that came before. The Dreamers that weren't able to wake up, left without a vessel to return to. We are the lands you harvest, the items you create, the powers you use. We are that which you give purpose to. The Veil given consciousness.

  • Shards

    Ah, you're curious about those? The fragments you call shards are fragments of the Veil. Before the Veil collapsed, they could be found where the Veil was weak, fragmented. Now, they seem to be scattered everywhere. Do you know why those fuzzy creatures seem to covet them so? Why? Because those 'shards' carry power. They covet the power inside of them Before the Veil collapsed, they could be found where the Veil was weak, fragmented. Now, they seem to be scattered everywhere. They contain the memories, dreams, and sometimes the souls of other beings.

The search for the tokens conversation

You want to trade with Tokens then?

Hmmm... We see you haven't encountered any yet.

We need you to learn about them first.

Are you ready to do a task for us?

->Yes

Good.

There are a few tokens We'll need you to collect for us.

Well... You might call them shards, and they do look like them, but larger and more potent.

They're less fragmented, and give out glimpses of their source.

Are you interested still?

->Yes

We need you to find five Tokens.

They're scattered throughout the Void.

When you allowed us to look inside you, We also planted a seed.
